Bruny Island

  Pirate Pat

Wow! what a great time we had with our Bruny Island members last Saturday. Our hostesses for the day   Sultana de Bruni Pat , Dame Grace of Bruni Jeanette, The Grand Baronessa Linda de Bruny joined us at Mermaids Café, where some of us had pancakes and berries, while others settled for a coffee and fudge for their “dessert first breakfast”. Pat changed her persona to Pirate Pat as we  boarded “The Good Ship Lollipop” for the ferry trip to Bruny. Onto Barnes Bay CWA Hall which was originally the Old School and we were officially greeted with a welcoming smile by The Grand Baronessa Linda de Bruny.

As we waited for Pirate Pat and Dame Grace of Bruni Jeanette, to take on  yet another persona – “The Chefs Italiano” – some imbibed in the red- Lambrusca and listened to Italian music. The meal was served and all would have to say the girls did a great job with the menu. During lunch, Madam May Bloom asked Pirate Pat to draw the lucky door prize, which was won by, guess who? None other than Pirate Pat, it was a popular win, just a small reward for a great effort. The music changed to some 50’s & 60’s tunes, so those who could not fit in the kitchen worked off some of their lunch by having a bit of bop around the dance floor. The washing up  and packing up started and some of the ladies to the opportunity, to check out the new poodle puppies, belonging to The Grand Baronessa Linda de Bruny and the spa that Lady Lin L'Amour had for sale and also to have a little look at some of the island.  For Goddess Barbara and Lady Laughalot Lyn it was a nostalgic trip, as both lived on the Island in the past.

We then ventured further north to Dennes Point and all  met at the lovely home of Dame Grace of Bruni  Jeanette, where the entrée was served. Included on the platters was some very nice home made cheese which Pat supplied. It was lovely to have two new ladies, Joanne from Bruny and Debbie  from Seven Mile Beach, with us for the day, they  will hopefully join us as members in the future. Debbie and Pat met at their Cheese making course.  A great day and we look forward to the next down under, down under, down under day. Again a big thank you to the Island girls.
