Italian Cook Off

A big thank you to Tawdry Audrey for hosting the Cook Off at her sunny little home, which was decorated with the Italian flag and the table beautifully set with the national colours.  We were greeted with the sound of traditional music and started the day with the Italian National Anthem followed closely with  a good old rough red provided by Queen Joann. We all dressed appropriately in black with apron, black stockings and the little scarf over our hair.

 

A wonderful menu was well thought out by Tawdry Audrey and Goddess Barbara and each person created the dishes which were all mouth watering  and excellent.  Madam May Bloom was happy to sit in for Duchess Dragonfly  who unfortunately was unable to attend at the last minute but did send her scrumptious Veal Parmesan dish along.  The menu

Cipolline Al Balsamic (baby onions)

Pomodori Ripieni (stuffed tomatioes)

 

The desserts which we did not eat first were from heaven

with Sweet Mascarpone

Need I say more, but what a wonderful way to spend Sunday. Good company,  scrumptious food, a  wine or two, lots of laughs,  and with music playing quietly in the background.
