Luncheon at Mermaids
Friday June 13th
Wow
what a great day we had at Mermaids Cafe at Kettering.
The Bruny Island girls travelled across on the "cruise
liner" and disembarked just in time for the scrumptious
luncheon. It was wonderful to welcome some visitors
who are seriously thinking of joining the throng of Red Hatters,
Margaret from Bruny, Sue from Sandy Bay, and
Barbara from Howden each made the effort to wear "the
colours".
You
may remember our Strawberry Shortcake
Amelia, joined us again today. Amelia
helped Queen Joann lead the Christmas Pageant in 2006,
definitely a budding red hatter, especially if she takes after
her grandmother Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair.
We also welcomed a new member Nerida from Blackmans Bay.
And a couple of faces we have not seen for a while Lady
Laughalot Lyn, and Lyn Amoure Amoure. A few of the
ladies wore a touch of black seeing as it was
Friday the 13th and Queen
Joann was sporting her newly acquired ritzy sunnies.
It was lovely to catch up with our Red Hat friends whilst
waiting for our meals to be served.
We
missed Goddess Barbara at our gathering today and all
send our get well wishes as she recuperates after a bad
fall last week when she badly dislocated her elbow. Barbara has
had four lots of surgery over the last week and feeling very
fragile. Take it easy Goddess Barbara and we hope
to see you out and about again soon.
We
all enjoyed the great meals served by the welcoming staff at
Mermaids which were very reasonably priced too. Well worth
the trip down to Kettering for those who were unable to
join us today.
Thank
you to Lin A for some of the photos below.
