Ozmas
in July
5th July
2008
Snow on the
mountain, fresh crisp air and robin red breasts hopping
around, greeted Red Hat ladies meeting at Tolosa Park for a
traditional barbie lunch to celebrate Christmas in July.
Congratulations to Crown Princess Mary for organising
such a wonderful day - only a small matter to Mary after a
round of celebrations for her retirement this week.
Mary made a wonderful gluwhein to start the day and many were
heard to ask for the recipe, it was so delicious.
Lots of
wonderful Christmas hats were worn, Pat, Sultana de Bruny
had a wonderful Christmas Tree creation, Queen Joann
chose to wear a Christmas floral jacket which was
quite striking. Virginia Princess of all that is Pure was
lightly sprung in her fun coiled hat.
A Secret
Santa Parcel was chosen by each of the ladies which was a giggle
- I think there were a couple of swaps happening. Queen
Joann's parcel was a much needed" hat.
After a
sumptious lunch we adjourned to the "sound shell" stage and led
by Jeannie with the Light Brown Hair, and ably assisted
by Goddess Barbara we sang our Christmas Carols. We also
played a couple of fun games, but we will have to practice
passing a pillow between our legs a bit more before the next
picnic. It is great to see the Bruny girls travelling the
long distance to join us and it was lovely to see Alison Pen
Dragon along again, also Goddess Barbara who is
counting down the days until she has the contraption
removed from her arm. A big thank you to all who helped with
salads and desserts. A great day - well done everyone.
